I was in Luxor last year in winter. It was great to enjoy the warm temperatures, instead of freezing in Romania, my home country. I remember enjoying the balloons flying above the West Bank. All temples were great, but at some point there were so many that you do not know what to choose. Overall, I have so many fond memories of Luxor – it is a place you need to go once in a life time.

Still on my bucket list to visit Egypt and Luxor, thanks for sharing the layout of the main attractions and temples to visit in the area. It does look like a wealth of amazing sites to visit on both sides of the river and I can’t imagine what it must be like to see and explore these in person.

Oh wow! I can’t believe it was the capital of Egypt for 500 years, and I’ve never heard of it. It looks like such an amazing place to travel. I’ve never been to Egypt, but it’s on my list!

I visited Luxor in February this year and seen most of the temples and places in this article. The only place I didn’t make it to, because it’s very expensive, was the Valley of the Queens. The Valley of the Kings is really special and it is worth taking your time to make the most of your visit. Unfortunately with the ticket you can only visit three tombs from the ones that are open on the day you visit. The Karnak Temple is wonderful, and again, you could easily spend an entire day just exploring its corners. It is massive.

Oh Egypt! I can’t believe for all our travels we haven’t prioritized this ancient region more–this post was such a great reminder and guide to help us get there. And this would be THE place to hot air balloon–what an incredible experience!

I have visited Egypt and Luxor many years ago and your blog post brought back the memories. The Statues in the temple are gigantic and it totally blows you away thinking how did they build these huge structures without any of today’s tools. Colossi of Memnon is another wonder there. Horse carriage rides and hot balloon may make your experience more enjoyable. 🙂

I visited Luxor in March and was mesmerised by the amazing Luxor and Karnak temples. I also went to the Valley of the Kings and went inside the tomb of Tutankhamen – something I will hold special for all time.

What a destination! The ancient history alone is enough to capture any traveller’s attention. Who doesn’t love an open-air museum, and this one might be the best in the world! I can see why Luxor has earned UNESCO status. But it would be the hot air balloon ride that would be the most memorable experience.

I am so amazed at the scale of these temples and the variety of what you can see at Luxor. Ever since I saw the Tutankhamen exhibit as a teenager, I have wanted to come to Egypt to see the pyramids. It’s definitely still on my bucket list, and you’ve given some great tips and info
