    2. Choose The Optimal Camping Spots And Watch Out For Your Surroundings:

Make sure to choose the right spot for camping. In fact, it is a helpful tip that ensures your safety. You do not want to camp under a big tree because branches might fall down on you in the middle of the night, so pay attention to your surroundings and watch out for any risks.

Looking for shade might be a factor, so having a strong and well-set-up tent can do the trick. You should also avoid camping under dead trees that so-called widowmakers. They might fall down on you and injure you.

Another thing to consider is not camping under ants’ nests because they might come all over the tents especially if you drop food. The last thing you want is ants biting you in your sleep. You should also stay away from game trails because it indicates paths that animals pass through frequently.

Camping near the river might be fun and all, but kids’ safety comes first, so pay attention to them or avoid camping near the river. Camp near water can be crucial for personal hygiene, drinking and cleaning.

    2. Have A Safe Cooking Spot:

To avoid fire, clear the cooking areas from leaves and woods. They might catch fire and result in a bigger problem, and if that ever happens, you should leave a water container near your cooking area to act fast and quench it. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Your cooking area should be a few feet away from your shelter to avoid animals coming to your camping area. This way if animals ever sniff your food, it would lead them to your cooking area, which is far from your shelter.

Camping tip: make sure to dig a spot and surround it with a ring of rocks to act as a flame and wind a barrier. That would help keep the fire burning and avoid it igniting in other areas.

    3. Keep Your Food In A Safe Place And Away From Predators:

Do not panic. It is actually easier than you think, and if you are being careful, nothing can hopefully happen. You do not need to carry a big medical kit. A few stuff can be sufficient, such as bandages and some antiseptic creams to clean a bite and injury.

Great Safety tips for a camping trip! I would also suggest bringing a small shovel for your toilet needs and use as little toilet paper as possible. Burn the toilet paper and bury the rest. A running river might be romantic in the evening, but it is also very loud when you want to sleep!

Thanks for the suggestions, I found them very helpful. We have a different article that discusses using camping wipes that dissolve after burying them. They are eco-friendly and cheap. They can be very helpful to plants. You can find them in this article: https://awesometraveler.blog/post/the-best-camping-gadgets-and-gears/

It’s been a long time since I’ve been camping but I love being set within nature and reconnecting with the most basic creature comforts. These are some excellent tips that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of. For instance, knowing where to get emergency service and knowing where you can get a cell phone signal makes very good sense if you want to be fully prepared. And, choosing a site for the bathroom is very smart, rather than just going randomly somewhere in the woods. The hanging trunk would be especially helpful to keep all the food organized and out of reach, too! Can’t wait to camp again soon – and with your camping safety tips, I know I’ll have everything handled.

These are great tips for those planning to go camping. I love camping, sleeping in a tent, and being as close to nature as possible. But I agree that you must prepare well for camping, so the adventure is safe. In August, I slept in a tent for three weeks while traveling around Alaska, which required extreme caution, for example, due to many bears. Proper food storage was vital so as not to provoke wild animals. An air-tight container it’s a great solution. Also, a safe cooking spot is essential. A first-aid kit is a must for me on each trip!.
