    Things To Do At Corniche Kennedy Marseille In France:

    the Corniche Kennedy Marseille extends from Catalan Beach all the way to Prado beaches. It is dedicated to the president of the United States, John F. Kennedy. As a matter of fact, the ledge is the longest bench in the world. It is about 3km in length, which gives plenty of space to roam around it, and find the perfect spot. You can admire the view of Friuli islands from the Corniche.

    1. PROPHET’S BEACH:

    Not far away form Corniche Kennedy Marseille is the Prophet’s beach (Plage du Prophète). It is one of the oldest beaches in Marseille, and one of the most popular beaches. It is crowded during the summer, so make sure to get there early to save a spot, or you can visit when it is close to sunset because it is less crowded.

     

    The sunset at the beach is magnificent. You do not want to miss the chance to see it. You can plan a picnic and aperitifs at the beach during sunset. Many from all over the city of Marseille come to visit for volleyball. You can join them to play or bring your friends to play.

    2. LE VALLON DES AUFFRES:

    Le Vallon Des Suffres is a small fishing port in Corniche Kennedy Marseille. It is located in between Catalans beach and Malmousque cove. It is nestled between two cliff facing the sea. Walking around it to enjoy its beautiful sceneries that something you should not miss. Swimming at the port is one activity that many enjoy to do.

     

    You can easily spot the status of the heroes of the army of the Orient. It is designated as a UNESCO world heritage site. You will also have a beautiful view of iew of the Château d’If and the Frioul Islands.

     

    If you ever get tired of walking around the Le vallon Des Auffres, you can visit the Chez Fonfon Resturnat for some delicious sea food and Bouillabaisse. You can try the famous meal LA BOUILLABAISSE. It is made of tomato broth seasoned with rockfish and saffron.

    3. Picnic At Prado Beaches:

    Prado beach is the largest beach in  Corniche Kennedy Marseille, and it is the top things to do in the area because there are many activity that you can do at the beach. Due to the wind you can practice windsurfing or surfing. You can also find people that skate around the area.

    4. Roucas Blanc beach:

    Roucas Blanc Beach is a small sandy beach, and one of the most beautiful beach in Corniche Kennedy Marseille. The best time to visit is during June, July, August, and September because they are the hottest. It means “the white rock”

     

    You can attend the near by thermal spa to soak your self and forget about all your worries. There are baths and refreshing pools. You can stay at Sofitel Palm-Beach hotel that contains a hot water fountain.

    4. Walk to The Top Of Notre-Dame de la Garde

    The Notre-Dame De La Grade is also nickname as the “the Good Mother.” It is one of the most beautiful spot in Corniche Kennedy Marseille. When walking around Marseille’s narrow streets, you can spot many stares that lead you to this magnificent spot and have an enchanting view of Marseille. They will also lead you to Talabot Castle.

    6. Talabot castle (Chateau Talabot):

    Talabot Castle (Chateau Talabot) is one of the most significate spot near Corniche Kennedy Marseille. It was built in 1860 by Paulin Talabot, and it is 25 hectares of land. As a matter of fact, he contrubited in building the railway in France and abroad. It is also known for contributing in funding the  Crédit Lyonnais and Société Générale.

     

    Another fact about the castle, it was used for filming the famous movie called ”Too beautiful For You.”  by Bertrand Blier in 1989. In the movie, you can see Gérard Depardieu and Carole Bouquet strolling around the rooms of this beautiful castle.

    7. Visit Frioul Islands:

    You can rent a cruise to visit the Frioul Islands or Château d’If (IF Castle). You can start the journey at Corniche Kennedy Marseille, and reach the island. You can enjoy a crystal clear water near the Frioul Island and the seabed.

     

    There is a castle that was built and become a prison in the IF islnad. It becomes famous by Alexandre Dumas’ novel ‘The Count of Monte-Cristo.”

    8. Visit Mucem Museum:

    The Mucem Museum (The Mucem) is another amazing spot near Corniche Kennedy Marseille. It covers the development of  Marseille, and its civilization  all throughout the year. It is an exhibition and cultural museum that dedicated to the Mediterranean.

    9. Calanques National Park (Parc National Des Calanques):

    Calanques National Park is another place that you can visit from Corniche Kennedy Marseille to enjoy it richness in flora and fauna. It takes part of the land and the sea. It extends over 520 km2 (201 sq mi), of which 85 km2 (33 sq mi) is land, while the remaining is marine area.

     

    In the seaside, there are underwater landscapes, such as caves and canyons where many marine animals lives in. Therefore, you can enjoy a scuba diving or snorkeling at the sea side. There are cliff that you can jump from them to the sea. Swimming there would be magical.

     

    In the land area, there full of lushes and vegetation that can withstand drought and sea spray. It is a beautiful surrounding at the Mediterranean Sea, so make sure to bring your camera to capture the moment.

    10. Rock Climbing At Les Calanques:

    Les Calanques is one of the largest rock climbing areas near Corniche Kennedy Marseille. There are also cliff areas where you can enjoy cliff jumping to the sea so keep that in mind if you are visiting the area.

     

    Les Calanques spinning 20km from Marseille to little town of Cassis, which you can visit for some shopping areas and dinning experience. 

     

    Climbing those limestone cliffs is challenging and quite entertaining. It requires someone who have a little of climbing experience. There are steep climbs in the sea edge to deep water soloing (SWS).
